Women are burnt in the fire of greed,
Harassed and tortured at the instance of need,
This act is a horrible deed,
Demons performing this have no caste and creed.
Dowry is offered in the name of gifts,
This is when the morality shifts.
It makes relations more corrupt,
But no one stands to disrupt.
A pathetic act for the sake of tradition,
Prospers due to lack of transition,
Show off is a factor of motivation,
Causes the ultimate devastation.
Unintentionally mistakes are made,
When the foundation of avarice is laid.
As a token of love by the victim’s family,
Honoring emotions, more than reality.
Innocent people are the victim of this crime,
Helplessly bounded by relations and time,
To escape is the only choice,
When no one around hears their voice.
Pride is considered in an ugly sense,
When avid transactions are dispensed.
A mockery of affinity is demonstrated,
And dignity of a woman is humiliated.
Family pride is rated so high,
Except the culprits , everyone cries.
Humanity witnesses the ultimate shame,
In the procedure of this horrific game.
